Who models Africa’s energy future?
An open observatory of energy modelling studies on African countries, the tools they use and the institutions that lead them. It started with a systematic review and is kept up to date by curators and contributors.
Where the authors are based
Author institutions by country, counted once per study. African institutions now lead most of the record, but much of the modelling is still done from Europe, North America and Asia.

Run by
AISESA Cluster 1
EnerMod Africa carries out Activity 1 of AISESA Cluster 1 (clean energy pathways for sustainable development): mapping the energy modelling tools and analytical capacities that already exist across the continent. The initial review and the first version of the platform were produced at MINES Paris-PSL (The Transition Institute 1.5).
